The Biggest LEGO® Sets by Piece Count

Guess The Pieces includes more than 200 LEGO sets, and the hardest rounds are almost always the giants. Once a model passes a few thousand pieces, most players lose their sense of scale. Here are the ten largest sets in the game's collection, with a few notes on what makes each one so big. Knowing them is a cheap way to win back points.

Piece counts are the official figures published by LEGO, as listed on Brickset.

World Map: big count, small pieces

The World Map tops the list, but it is not the most complicated build. The overwhelming majority of its pieces are tiny 1×1 round tiles pressed onto large baseplates to create a mosaic of the continents and oceans. That makes it a great trick question: a flat wall picture beats every castle, ship and spaceship in the game. If you see a mosaic or an Art set, expect the count to be much higher than the picture suggests.

Landmarks: the Icons heavyweights

Three of the top four are real-world landmarks from the Icons line, built for adult fans. The Eiffel Tower stands about 1.5 metres tall, and its piece count of 10,001 was chosen just to cross the five-digit mark. The Titanic model is over 1.3 metres long and splits into sections that show the inside of the ship. The Colosseum was the largest LEGO set ever when it came out in 2020, taking that title from the Millennium Falcon. Most of its pieces go into the repeating arches of its three-tiered outer wall.

The lesson for guessing: repetitive architecture multiplies quickly. Count the pieces in one arch or one window bay, then multiply by the number of repeats.

Star Wars: the Ultimate Collector Series

The Ultimate Collector Series (UCS) is where LEGO puts its most detailed Star Wars models. The 2017 Millennium Falcon, with 7,541 pieces, held the record for the biggest set for about three years. The game also includes its 2007 predecessor (set 10179, 5,197 pieces), which is a good reminder that even the “old” giants are huge. The AT-AT and the Razor Crest both clear 6,000 pieces, largely thanks to dense internal frames that hold their shape.

Fantasy worlds: Rivendell, NINJAGO City and Hogwarts

The last three entries are all detailed buildings full of furniture, plants and small decorations. Rivendell and NINJAGO City Markets are separated by only four pieces. Hogwarts Castle builds the school in micro-scale with tiny figures, which is why it squeezes over 6,000 pieces into a model that looks smaller than you might expect.
